Whether it's stepping into the shoes of a pilot by planning flight plans, calculating weight & balance, exploring the intricacies of aircraft engineering, and aviation maintenance, there's something for every aspiring aviation enthusiast.

OBJECTIVES

At Pilot in Training Flight Academy Aviation Summer Camp, our primary objectives revolve around inspiring curiosity, fostering learning, and instilling a passion for aviation among our campers. Throughout the camp, we aim to:

  • Introduce Aviation Concepts: Introduce the captivating world of aviation, covering principles of flight, aircraft design, and navigation.

  • Encourage Hands-on Learning: Engage campers in interactive activities and simulations to reinforce theoretical knowledge.

  • Explore Career Pathways: Offer insights into various careers within the aviation industry, inspiring participants to consider future possibilities.

  • Create Lasting Memories: Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for campers to learn, explore, and create lifelong memories.

CAMP SAFETY AND SUPERVISION:

  • Our priority is the safety and well-being of all participants.

  • Qualified instructors and supervisors will oversee all activities.

  • We maintain a safe and controlled environment throughout the camp.

  • Campers will be using safety equipment and following strict FAA aviation safety procedures.

 
WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activities.

  • Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided.

  • Sunscreen, hat, and refillable water bottle.

  • Any required medical information or medications.

 

SCHEDULE

Day 1: Introduction to Aviation

  • 9:30 am - 10 am: Registration and orientation.

  • 10 am - 11:00 am: Ice-breaking activities and introductions.

  • 11:00 am - 1 pm: Introduction to aviation history and the principles of flight.

  • 1 pm - 2 pm: Lunch break.

  • 2 pm - 3:30 pm: Airplane walkaround inspection

Day 2: Aircraft Design and Engineering

  • 9:30 am - 11 am: Basics of aircraft design and engineering principles.

  • 11 am - 12:00 pm: basic aerodynamics workshop.

  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch break.

  • 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Airplane check list and Owner Manual introduction.

Day 3: Flight Simulation and Navigation

  • 9:30 am - 11 am: Introduction to airplane systems.

  • 11 am - 12:00 pm: Basics of navigation and map reading skills.

  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch break.

  • 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Hands on Activity: Working in the shop, riveting model.

Day 4: Pilot Training and Career Exploration

  • 9:30 am - 10:30 am: Overview of pilot training and requirements.

  • 10:30 am - 12:00 pm: Guest speaker session with a pilot.

  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch break.

  • 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Hands on Activity: Working in the shop, riveting model.

Day 5: Practical Aviation Experience

  • 9:30 am - 12:00 pm: Safety briefing for a flight and flight control operation.

  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch break.

  • 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Hands-on activities: Aircraft inspection, pre-flight checks, and safety procedures.

  • 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Introduction flight.

NOTE: Activities and schedule might change based on weather and availability.
