Once we collected the necessary documents you will be assigned with a primary instructor that will guide you trough the training steps and will lead the way towards your license.
We encourage you to start with an Introduction Flight. This will give a truly unique chance to experience freedom of flying and will give you a clear understanding of a pilot perspective. This is also a great opportunity to meet your instructor, take a look at one of our airplanes and get an idea of how we handle business.

7 EASY STEPS TO BECOME A PILOT

The minimum age for a solo flight is 16 years old (one of the steps required to complete the training).
The minimum age to receive PPL (Private Pilot License) is 17 years old.
If you are younger then 16 years old call our office at 301.764.2888 for information about our Cadet Program.In order to start flight training in the US you need the following:
1. Proof of US citizenship, or
2. Legal status in the US and go trough a standard process of Flight Training Security Program (TSA background check)
NOTE: we will help you to submit the form and guide you trough that standard process.

We highly recommend to start by trying our Introduction Flight (two options available). Introduction Flight will allow you to get a feeling for the flight training, our operation, airplanes and the most important thing it will help you to understand if you still interested in perusing flight training.
NOTE: introduction flight time will be considered flight training and will be counted towards your total flight hours.

Contact our office at 301.764.2888 and ask a meeting with our Chief Instructor for a free flight training consultation. During the consultation you will review the training material that will be covered, sign up procedure, brake down of the costs, you will be assigned to a primary instructor and he will help you to submit for the student sertificate.

You need to obtain at least a 3rd class medical certificate from an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
Google for the nearest AME to your home. We highly recommend to obtain the medical certificate at the early stages of the flight training.You will be asked to complete an Med Express form online prior your appointment with the AME.

Apart from the Flight Training you need to cover the theoretical material. it can be covered in several ways:
1. One-on-one the most popular way or reviewing the theoretical material and the most expansive way, as you will pay for the instructor time per hour for reviewing this material in person one-on-one.2. Online Course. You can purchase an online course from a third party provider. Make sure they providing a Certificate of Completion. Not recommended by Pilot in Training Flight Academy for initial students as you will be handling with a lot of material by yourself.
3. PPL Ground School. We offer Ground School, its in person in classroom environment. You save by sharing the costs with other students. It will be a small group of not more then 7 students. After you’ve completed a Private Pilot Flight Training Course and have at least 40 hours of flight time you are eligible to take a Check Ride (FAA Practical Exam)

After a successful FAA Practical Exam you will be given a Temporary Private Pilot Certificate while you wait for the official FAA Certificate to be issued and sent by mail.

CADET PROGRAM
Pilot in Training Flight Academy thrilled to introduce our exclusive Cadet Program! Designed specifically for students under the age of 16, this program has been meticulously crafted with the aim of acquainting young aviation enthusiasts with the aviation world and aviation safety.
Our Cadet Program is tailored to accommodate the busy lives of students, taking into consideration their busy school schedules and extracurricular activities. Our primary objective is to enhance safety consciousness, and provide cadets with a comprehensive introduction to the fascinating aviation world, among many other valuable skills and experiences.
We recommend a minimum age of 12 years for enrollment in this program.
PPL GROUND SCHOOL
Our Private Pilot Ground School is the premier choice for aspiring pilots looking to master the essential theoretical subjects for a Private Pilot License. Our classroom environment fosters active learning, encouraging students to ask questions and benefit from the experiences of their peers. The program was designed by Slava Mordehaev, a senior flight instructor and commercial pilot.
Our program offers a 25-hour comprehensive curriculum. Classes are conveniently held at Montgomery County Airpark once a week for 10 weeks, from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.

Pilot in Training Flight Academy unique ground program will prepare you to the FAA written/knowledge test and will review and cover the required subjects of the FAA, this program will introduce you to the theoretical part of aviation.
Upon completion you will receive an endorsement from your instructor that state that you completed to ground school and you are ready for your final exams.
